Sandberg Development becomes a partner in Silanos

The Malmö based family owned investment company Sandberg Development is becoming a new part owner of the Italian family owned company Silanos.

Silanos, which is one of the market-leading dishwasher manufacturers in Europe. The investment in Silanos will be Sandberg Development's first outside of Sweden. Sandberg Development's ownership stake in Silanos amounts to 25 percent. 

Through active ownership in innovation-driven companies, Sandberg Development wants to contribute to growth and social benefit. Water technology is one of the group's three focus areas and Sandberg Development has now chosen to take the step outside of Sweden for the first time by becoming a co-owner of the Italian Silanos. By combining the strengths of the wholly-owned subsidiary Granuldisks and Silanos in manufacturing, logistics, customer knowledge, organization and digitalization, the ambition is to create a complete portfolio of premium products for the dishwashing room of the future.

Silanos is a family-owned company that has been a leader in Europe since 1964, primarily in compact dishwashers. All manufacturing takes place in Milan, where production is largely robotized. The products are primarily water-based compact dishwashers for the private sector. Silanos currently has just over 100 employees and a turnover of approximately SEK 300 million.

Since 2019, Granuldisk and Silanos have had an innovative development collaboration that has so far resulted in three products. The ambition now is to create a complete product portfolio of both small and large dishwashers in the public and private sectors.
